Design Characteristic and Performance Analysis of Hole Assisted Fiber for Long Haul Optical Fiber Networks

چکیده
In conventional photonic crystal fibers (PCF’s),the cladding structure is usually formed by air holes with the same diameter arrayed in regular triangular lattice. However, in index guiding PCF’s means in Hole Assisted Fiber, the periodicity in the cladding region is not essential to confine the guiding light in to the high-index core region. Hole Assisted Fiber (HAF) technology is investigated for long haul and for FTTH networks. We have investigate the characteristics of hole assisted fiber experimentally and numerically. We designed the HAF by introducing the factor ‘air filling fraction’ and then investigated that bending loss and cut off wavelength characteristics of hole assisted fiber can be controlled by no. of holes, and diameter of holes. We have worked for the design of a single mode and low bending loss hole assisted fiber. Index Terms Hole assisted fiber, air hole, bending loss, cut off wavelength.

Hole-assisted lightguide fibers with small negative dispersion and low dispersion slope.
A nonzero dispersion shifted fiber design based on hole-assisted lightguide fiber is presented. The proposed fiber has low dispersion slope around -0.01 ps/nm(2)-km and small negative dispersion values over the wavelength range from 1530 to 1620 nm. It can be used as a transmission medium for a long-haul dense wavelength-division-multiplexed system.

We consider that Optical communication network offers very high potential bandwidth and flexibility In terms of high bit-rate transmission. However, their performance slows down due to some parameter like dispersion, attenuation, scattering and unsynchronized bit pattern. In long haul application, dispersion is the main parameter which needs to be compensated in order to provide high level of r...

This study presents a full-duplex Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) system providing the users' wireless access with a bit rate of 10 Gbps over 40 GHz radio carrier. This system can be used in a centralized radio access network (C-RAN) architecture because we provide a fully analog front haul link between central station and base station. We can consider it as infrastructure between remote radio heads (RR...

Optical communications is rapidly expanding beyond long-haul fiber-optic networks into shorter distance, lower-cost applications such as infrared wireless links and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH). CMOS implementations of optical receivers are attractive given their reduced cost and size, but the trend towards lower system voltages in CMOS challenges the long-term viability of integrated designs. متن کاملBending-Loss Insensitive Fiber with Hole-Assisted Structure
The characteristics of hole-assisted fiber (HAF) are investigated both numerically and experimentally in terms of its applicability as a bending-loss insensitive fiber (BIF). We show that HAF with the desired mode-field diameter (MFD), bending-loss and cutoff wavelength characteristics can be roughly designed by taking a few specific structural parameters into consideration. We also show that a...
